Spur of the moment

What better use for surplus frosting and decorations than two off-the-cuff mini-cakes? Both are double layers of chocolate mint cake with peppermint cooked frosting and rolled fondant trimmings.

A hand-shaped decoration and extra lettering (just needed to cut out one additional "e") that were not required for the final "A2Z World Without Walls" design were repurposed for this "Lending a helping hand" message cake. It was then walked down the block to three University students, two of whom are recuperating from sports-related injuries.

With this second mini-cake, Elanor got to experiment with one of the many geometric designs running through her mind, resulting in this mosaic or quilt motif.
