Please don't let it snow!

Like everyone else upper cut cake gal J is getting a bit fed up of the wintry weather. She's also getting impatient waiting for the arrival of baby J and wondering whether he/she will arrive in time for Christmas.

To bide her time J has taken inspiration from the weather to create this sparkly snowflake Christmas cake that she's still hoping to share with visitors (providing they can make it up the snow ridden hill to her house).

(rich fruit cake with a generous layer of marzipan, covered in royal icing decorated with fondant snowflakes dipped in edible lustre and studded with silver balls)

Little Robin Red breast sat upon a tree

With Christmas just around the corner, J had yet another family birthday. She knew exactly what sort of cake was needed; something with a wintry theme and buckets of charm that could only come from a little icing robin sitting in a tree singing to a frosty sky. Happy birthday to J's mum, J.

mmm chocolate!

All upper cut cake gal, J could do in support of the snow digging efforts in recent weeks was to provide sustenance to the hardworking troops. As luck would have it, her husband A, had his 2^5 birthday on that day so she was well prepared with a deliciously evil chocolate cake.

Having not been able to get out for a week because of the snow the decoration was a little ad hoc but A does love his steam trains. A very happy birthday to A and a huge thanks for making sure that we'll be able to make it out when baby J decides the time is right!

(double layer chocolate cake with chocolate custard icing, hundreds and thousands decoration and train candle holders)
