Birthday beach babe

With a seaside holiday to Turkey fast approaching, birthday girl "A"'s friends feted her with this beach-themed mini-cake. It's hard to believe anything could be better than enjoying a frozen pina colada served in a fresh coconut shell while sunbathing on a cheery beach towel. Yet the trail of footprints in the sand suggest the water has repeatedly lured the birthday girl in for refreshing swims. Don't forget the beach ball when you're done playing in the waves!

The sure sign "A" was happy with her cake? It took three days before she would allow anyone to cut it! Even then, she refused to do so herself, leaving it up to her father to make sure the cake was more than just a feast for the eyes!

(Double layer of chocolate cake filled with strawberry jam and, by special request, Upper Cut Cakes gal "E"'s fluffy vanilla seven-minute frosting; rolled fondant sand, beach towel, sandals, sunblock bottle, pina colada in coconut shell, life rings, beach ball, and waves; royal icing lettering.)
