According to his wife, birthday boy “A” loves apple pie and isn’t a fan of icing. To meet specifications and please the man of the hour, Upper Cut Cakes gal “E” chose a recipe for Apple Pie Cake that is chock full of fresh fruit and baked in a pie dish. The cake was so moist that she felt whipped cream was sufficient accompaniment, making sauce unnecessary.
But what’s a cake without some adornment or special decorative touch? So staying true to the icing-free mandate, “E” ringed the birthday cake with homemade cinnamon cookies (biscuits) in the shape of little apples and affixed with small dollops of whipped cream.
The cake proved a hit at the party but fortunately a slice was saved so “A” could enjoy a second helping at tea time!
